National Gallery

Project Overview

The National Gallery project at Trafalgar Square, London, involved a challenging fit-out within one of the most prestigious and historically significant buildings in the city. Under a traditional £850k contract with Willmott Dixon, the project scope included drylining, suspended ceilings, and plastering across designated areas of the gallery.

Challenges and Achievements

The project presented significant logistical challenges due to the site’s central location, the heritage status of the building, and the need to work under strict sound and vibration restrictions to protect both the structure and the gallery’s daily operations.

30 fixers

To meet these demands, a skilled team of 30 fixers was deployed, working meticulously over a 24-week programme. The team’s ability to navigate the complexities of the listed building and adhere to strict operational guidelines was crucial in ensuring the project’s success.

This case demonstrates the team’s capability in delivering high-quality work under challenging conditions, showcasing their expertise in managing projects within historic and sensitive environments.
